Citizen Advisory Committee Meeting Agendas 2008 2007 2006 Citizen Advisory Committee Meeting Summaries 2007 2006 Bend MPO Citizen Advisory Committee Overview About the Committee The purpose of the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) is to involve the public in regional transportation planning. The CAC is comprised of 11 members. The CAC advises the Policy Board, the decision making body for the Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO), regarding regional transportation planning issues. The Policy Board considers recommendations from the Citizen Committee along with input from other public outreach efforts and other BMPO advisory committees. What Does the Citizen Advisory Committee Represent? An important role of the Citizen Advisory Committee is to represent diverse experience and interests in a broad range of categories. A list of potential interest groups is provided below. Business/Chamber Citizen at Large Land Use Bicycle advocate Transit Low Income Most members of the CAC reside in the Bend MPO area. A map of the BMPO area is available here.
The CAC may also include representatives from areas outside the existing BMPO boundary. These representatives should be from areas that could become part of the BMPO or be directly impacted by projects or plans of the BMPO.
More Information The CAC advises the Policy Board on several different aspects of transportation planning including public outreach techniques, BMPO project priorities, and BMPO planning documents such as the Metropolitan Transportation Plan. The CAC will also be working with the Policy Board to develop bylaws to better define the purpose and anticipated activities of the CAC.
