Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program

The BMPO Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) identifies transportation projects in the BMPO that are programmed to receive funding over the next few years. The MTIP lists federally funded and locally funded projects anticipated by local agencies and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

The MTIP contains a three-year listing of anticipated expenditures for locally funded projects drawn from the capital improvement programs of Bend and Deschutes County. It also lists projects from the ODOT Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. The MTIP lists projects for which application of specific federal funds will be made in the next three years. Projects in the MTIP must be consistent with the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). Additionally, projects proposed for year four are included for informational purposes.

2008-2011 Draft MTIP
The BMPO is currently taking comment on the draft 2008-2011 MTIP. The draft 2008-2011 MTIP identifies transportation projects in that are programmed to receive funding in fiscal years 2008-2011. The draft MTIP was developed by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), the staff group which is responsible for most of the technical details of the MPO transportation planning process. The TAC assembled the MTIP from the adopted capital improvement programs (CIPs) and other capital planning documents from the City of Bend and Deschutes County. It also includes projects from the ODOT STIP and projects from the overlapping years of the previous (FY06-09) MTIP. The Policy Board will adopt the 2008-2011 MTIP at its regularly scheduled meeting on February 21.
