The mission of code enforcement in the City of Bend is to protect the health and safety of the city's residents and visitors, and the livability of the community, by assuring compliance with the city's land use, environmental and building codes.  The city will assure code compliance both by encouraging voluntary compliance and by punishing code violators who do not comply. The city's policy is to enforce compliance with city codes in all cases of reported and discovered code violations.
