We hope this page will assist you in learning more about us. We currently have a staff of highly skilled professionals which include the Building Manager/Official, Robert Mathias and Interim Assistant Building Official, Joe McClay. We process the plan review of most single-family applications within two weeks. Commercial and multi-family application review timelines are critically dependent on the complexity of the building plans. However, these permits are issued in a timely manner. Once your application is processed and approved through the building plan review process, the plans will be reviewed by the Planning Division and Engineering Division. When approval is given by all other divisions, the permit will be issued and you may begin scheduling inspections from the foundation inspection to the final building inspection. Instructions are included in your permit packet regarding the process to request these inspections. Permit fees vary depending on the size of the structure. System Development Charges (SDCs) are generally a large portion of your entire permit fee. These fees are collected at the time we issue the building permit. The fees collected are used for capital improvements within the city to increase city wide capacities for water, sewer, transportation, parks or drainage.
