CITY OF BEND BUDGET Welcome to the City of Bend Budget. We hope to provide users of this web-page with the opportunity to not only view the adopted budget but also to discover how the budget is developed and what opportunities exist for citizens to provide input into the process. Mission Statement: The mission of the City of Bend's Budget staff is to provide accurate and timely information, forcasting and analysis needed to support City Management and Council's efforts in developing service programs and operational budgets that promote the long-range strategic plans of the City. Core Value: Take Ownership- an expectation that City staff take ownership of citizen input and the needs of the community and translate them into feasible work plans and budgetary recommendations. Budget Preparation: The budget process followed in the preperation of the City of Bend's budget complies with local budget law established by the State of Oregon. Oregon's Local Budget Law does two important things:
To give the public ample opportunity to participate in the budgeting process, Local Budget Law requires that a budget officer be appointed and a budget committee be formed.
