Service to our community and working to make our home a better place to live, work and play is what defines the Bend Police Department. The Bend Police Department has strived to produce and nourish a culture of service, participation and dedication to our community. This is reflected by both the Bend Police Department's Vision Statement and our values.

In the 2008 – 2009 fiscal year, Bend Police Officers dedicated more than 1,100 hours of volunteer time to various organizations throughout our community.

Fingerprinting with Sgt. Dan Ritchie at the Boys Girls Club mini-academy Organizations such as the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, the Boys & Girls Club and the Disabled American Veterans top the list of groups where officers choose to dedicate volunteer time.

The unique quality of life we maintain in our Central Oregon home is important to the Bend Police Department and those we serve. We encourage everyone in our community to help us preserve this distinctive quality of life.
