2010 SPECIAL EVENTS IN THE CITY OF BEND 

 

EVENT APPLICATIONS

 

Sponsors of events open to the public on City or public property with an expected attendance of 75 or more must submit an Event Application form. Click here for a copy of the form.  Sponsors must call the Bend Police Community Liaison, 541-322-2976, to discuss details of the event including but not limited to safety, traffic and crowd control, ADA compatibility and other City Code requirements.  The application process should start at least 60 days prior to the event with submission of the final application no later than 30 days prior to the event.

 

Small events of less than 75 people or not open to the public may qualify for a Revocable Permit.  Contact the Community Liaison, 541-322-2976, at least 30 days prior to the event to begin the Revocable Permit process.

 

Following are the events scheduled for  July/August 2010

  

 

August 5, Michael Franti and Spearhead. LSA, Shevlin Hixon closed, congestion along Columbia

August 6, Modern Dance Demonstration. Tin Pan Alley closed at Franklin

August 6-8 Chevy Cruise Various venues, downtown cruise on 7 August.  Wall, Bond and feeders closed.  Contact Joan 480-5560.

August 14-15, Basket Ball Tournament.  On Oregon Av., Oregon closed.  Contact 420-3081.

August 13-September 3, Munch and Movies.  Held at Compass Park each Friday night.  Congestion along feeder streets to the Park.  Contact C3, 389-0995.

August 20-21, BrewFest.  At the LSA/OMD, expect congestion along Columbia and Shevlin Hixon.

August 27, Dylan, Mellencamp Concert.  LSA, expect congestion along Columbia and Shevlin Hixon. 

August 28-29, Wine by the River.  At Riverbend Park, some congestion along Columbia.  Contact Lee Perry 390-3214

August 28, Alley Jam. Music, food vendors.  Tin Pan Alley closed at Franklin.  Contact, 385-8885

August 29, Clint Black.  LSA, Shevlin Hixon closed, congestion along Columbia

 

 

September 4, Sunrise to Summit Duathelon.  Staging at ??, some congestion along Mt. Washington and Century Drive.  Contact Molly,  388-0002

September 5, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal Concert.  At LSA, congestion along Columbia, Shevlin Hixon closed.  Contact Marney, 312-0131.

September 11, Best in Show.  At Drake Park, a dog show and walk in the area.  Watch for congestion along Riverside.  Contact Heidi, 480-8700

September 11, ALS Walk.  Held in and around the Old Mill, some congestion.

September 17, Willie Nelson.  LSA, Shevlin Hixon closed, congestion along Columbia

September 18, XTerra National Championships.  Staging at Old Mill, various trails in area.  Congestion along Columbia/Shevlin Hixon.

September 18, Law Enforcement Torch Run.  For the Special Olympics, Law Enforcement runners run legs from Bend to Redmond.

September 12, Drake Park Duck Race.  At Drake Park, congestion along Riverside and feeder streets in the afternoon.  Galveston bridge down to one lane while ducks are set free.

September 17/18. Fall Fest. Held downtown, Wall, Oregon and Minnesota closed, congestion along Franklin and Greenwood.  Contact C3, 389-0995.

September 19, Big Foot 10k. Held at McKay Park/OMD areas.  Some congestion at Shevlin Hixon.   

September 19, ALZ Walk.   In and around the Old Mill District, some congestion.

September 24/25, October Fest.  Held along Oregon/Minnesota, traffic control in place.  Contact Lee Perry 390-3214.
