3/4-inch through 2-inch Water Meters
are purchased from and installed by the City of Bend.

Installation of water meter sizes 3-inch and larger, including all
necessary equipment and materials, is the responsibility of the developer/property owner and must be to City of Bend Standards and Specifications.

IMPORTANT!

Read All Items Below:

1.  City has ten (10) working days after receipt of application and fees to install meter.

2.  Billing of water service will commence on the 11^th working day after meter has been recorded by City of Bend Public Works Department.  Customer will be charged a minimum of 600 cubic feet, plus additional water usage.  For billing questions, please call (541) 388-5515.

3.  The City of Bend strongly encourages customers to have the foundation of the building completed before the meter is set.  City of Bend Standards and Specifications do NOT allow meter boxes to be placed in driveways.

4.  Applicant / customer is responsible for the meter box and meter after installation until the building permit is final, and/or until landscaping is completed.  If the meter box or meter is damaged during construction activities, including landscaping, the signer of the Meter Installation Report/request will be responsible for the full cost of bringing the meter box and meter into compliance with the City of Bend Standards and Specifications.

Supplies and Installation

The following applies to 3/4-inch through 2-inch Meters Only.

For residential service, the City of Bend Meter fees include the Water Meter, Automated Meter Reading equipment, backflow prevention device, meter setting material, meter box, and installation*.

For commercial, industrial and multi-family service, the City of Bend will supply and install* the Water Meter and Automated Meter Reading equipment. However, installation of the backflow prevention device according to State and City specifications is the responsibility of the developer/property owner. 

*PLEASE NOTE:  The installation of a new water service line from the water main to the meter location, if required, and from the meter location to the building is the responsibility of the customer and/or applicant.
