What is the official elevation for the City of Bend?

What hours is City Hall open? Where is it located?
City Hall is open from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Monday-Friday except on posted holidays. City Hall is located at 710 NW Wall Street in downtown Bend. The Permit Center counter is open from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., and 1 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

How do I license my dog?
Deschutes County requires that every person owning or keeping any dog that has a set of permanent canine teeth or is six months old, whichever comes first, shall within thirty days after he becomes the owner or keeper of the dog, and yearly thereafter, procure from the County a license for the dog. License forms are available at Deschutes County Finance Department, veterinary offices, as well as the Redmond and Central Oregon animal shelters.

Can I schedule a tour at a fire station?
Yes, please call the City of Bend Fire Department at 322-6300 to set up your tour.

Where can I get help to install a child car seat correctly?
Every third Wednesday of the month, from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., Bend Fire offers free help to install your child car seat correctly. The clinic is held at 1212 SW Simpson Avenue.

When are City Council Meetings scheduled? 
City Council meetings are held the first and third Wednesday of each month. Check the Council agenda/packet  web page for more information. For information on your City Council, check the City Council member web page.

Are business licenses necessary for doing business within the City of Bend?
The City of Bend officially established a business license ordinance January 18, 2006. The purpose of the business license is to provide accurate and detailed information on businesses for better public safety response. For more information, click here.

What do I need to do to hold a special event in Bend? 
The City of Bend welcomes public events and small gatherings, however all events in the City of Bend require a special event permit. The first step in obtaining a special events permit is to call the Bend Police Community Liaison at 322-2976. For more information, check the City Special Events web page.

Is open burning allowed in Bend?
No. Effective in 2009 the City Council banned open burning.

Call the Fire Administration office at 322-6300 to have an application mailed to you or download the application by clicking here.

Does the City offer public transit service?
The City offers the BAT or Bend Area Transit for the general public and to those who need curb-to-curb, shared ride paratransit services, the City offers the Dial-A-Ride service. For more information, call 322-5870.

How do I report potholes or problems with dust control?
Call the Public Works hotline at 317-3002.
