Planning a Special Event in the City of Bend

The City of Bend welcomes public events and small gatherings, however all events in the City of Bend require special event permits. Any time an event is held that is open to the public and will have an attendance of over 75, and will be held on public property requires an Assembly Permit. Smaller gatherings require a Revocable Permit.  If alcohol will be served at small events held on public property such as weddings, a City of Bend Alcohol Permit must be obtained.

Plan accordingly: For large events such as concerts and festivals, 60-90 days gives enough time to review and process the permit with the organizers; for small events, 30 days is sufficient.

The first step to obtaining a special events permit is to call the Bend Police Community Liaison at (541) 322-2976. The type, size and requirements of the event will be discussed.  A checklist is on the permit application and, depending on the size and complexity of the event, these may include security, accessibility, fire department, parking or other departmental sign offs.
